Councillors in Aberdeen have voted narrowly in favour of giving the city's airport the go ahead to operate 24 hours a day despite continuing concern from local residents over noise.
Airport bosses called the development a "significant milestone for northeast Scotland" after years of negotiations.
The airport has previously been banned from having any flights after 11.30pm, but they will now be able to have an additional four flights throughout the night.
