New direct flights to Brussels will cut out the need to take the scenic route from Prestwick to Charleroi

BAA Glasgow today received confirmation SN Brussels Airlines is to launch a new service from Glasgow to Brussels. The airline will offer 9 flights a week to Brussels, from 2 June.

 

Stephen Baxter, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport described the new service as “a major boost to the city’s financial sector.”

 

Mr. Baxter added: “This is an important new route for Glasgow. It gives the city direct access to one of Europe’s most important financial centres, and for leisure passengers, it provides new opportunities for city breaks in one of the continent’s most vibrant capital cities.

 

“We are delighted to welcome a European airline with a reputation for quality and network of routes that stretches across the globe. We are talking with a number of other airlines and expect to make further announcements in the near future.

 

“We have made a determined effort to increase the number of direct international flights available from Glasgow, working in partnership with Glasgow City Council and the local Tourist Board. This joined-up approach is winning new routes for Glasgow and helping to put our city on the map as an international destination.”
