Swissport has been awarded the third handling licence at Glasgow Airport with immediate effect. This licence is for full aircraft handling as well as line maintenance and fuelling.

Swissport also operates as a supervisory agent for Swiss International Air Lines at London City Airport.

Glasgow International is the busiest airport in Scotland, and now handles 8.6 million passengers per year, with direct flights to more than 100 destinations Worldwide. The airport, opened in 1966, has over 93,000 movements each year.

"We are delighted to be opening at Glasgow Airport, our first base in Scotland," Nigel Daniel, Chief Executive Officer for Swissport UK said. "Glasgow forms part of our planned expansion programme and we look forward to working with our airline customers to deliver excellent and punctual services to their passengers."

Swissport has recently announced its appointment as supervisory agents to Swiss International Air Lines at London City Airport and also the award of a contract to handle First Choice Airways at Gatwick Airport, marking their first move into the airport’s North Terminal.
