UK travellers will be able to get direct flights from Scotland to Moscow this summer.
Starting in June, the new service will mean that travellers will not have to travel via Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London or Strasbourg to visit the Russian capital. Airline Transaero will continue the weekly direct service from Edinburgh.
VisitScotland, who last week took a stall at a tourism fair in Moscow, said it was delighted that the direct flights would continue, after fears that they would be reduced to once a fortnight.
"Russia is of growing importance to tourism in the Scottish economy, and this service helps to promote Scotland to potential Russian visitors," said a spokeswoman.
The relaunch of the service, said the tourism agency, was a sign that the first season of the Edinburgh to Moscow service has gone well. The agency is now looking at attracting more visitors from Russia.
