News: Green see Red over Robin Hood Airport launch

The Green Party have launched an attack on other local parties over their support for the country's newest airport, Robin Hood International.

Green Party Doncaster Mayoral candidate Rick Rolt claimed that:

"Robin Hood International Airport may or may not bring with it a new era of prosperity for Doncaster and surrounding areas. However, with New Labour Mayor Martin Winter and local MP Caroline Flint both keen to point to their 'green' credentials at every  opportunity, and the government warning us that climate change is a graver  threat than that of international terrorism....somehow this doesn't all add up!"

Mr Rolt then went on to claim that:

"Life expectancy here is  around 10 years below the national average.  The congestion and
pollution associated with the new airport is hardly going to ease that  situation. We're concerned that the only impact of the new airport on the  lives of too many people will be a negative one."
