News: Flybe stop Liverpool to Glasgow flights

Flights > News > # 539 (02/09/2005)

Flybe have today stopped their flights from Liverpool to Glasgow, citing an inability to make a profit on the route. The airline started operating flights from Liverpool in March this year, and has opened up a range of short hop domestic routes.

Currently, Flybe's flights from Liverpool operate to Belfast, Edinburgh, Exeter, Jersey and Southampton. The airline has offered particularly fierce competition on its flights to Belfast from Liverpool, where it has gone head to head with Easyjet, selling passengers on the virtues of its Belfast City hub as much as on ticket price. Belfast City Airport is just two miles from the centre of the city, compared to Belfast International, which is 13 miles away.

The airline continues to operate daily flights to Edinburgh from Liverpool, and remains committed to its full programme of flights from Glasgow to other UK destinations.
