News: Swefly suspend all flights
Flights > News > # 549 (07/09/2005)
Swedish airline Swe Fly has now stopped all flights, following cancellation last week of its flights to and from Lahore via Stockholm Skavsta. In a statement on its website, the airline said:
"The owners of SWE FLY have not been able to finance the operations and the company has been forced to cancel all flights as from last Friday afternoon. Presently the owners are in intensive work in order to find a solution to SWE FLY's problems. The staff of SWE FLY is ready to start operations at short notice. To those passengers that now are waiting for a SWE FLY scheduled flight we must regretfully admit that we still do not know when or if flights will resume."

Comment:
This looks like another unfortunate chapter in the book of failed airlines. Once a company "suspends operations", it becomes very difficult to re-start, especially in a climate of falling confidence in airlines consumers know little about.
