News: Ryanair make Cork third base in Ireland

Ryanair have announced that Cork will become the airline's 15th European base. From 24th November 2005, Ryanair will base a brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Cork, and add two new flight routes to Dublin and London Gatwick. The new flights join existing Ryanair services to London Stansted and Liverpool.The airline aims to deliver more than 1 million passengers per annum on its four routes to and from Cork. Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, said: “For the first time Irish passengers will be able to enjoy the benefits of Europe’s lowest fares and most punctual airline on a domestic route. More than 1,000 low fare seats will be available daily between Cork and Dublin acting as a major stimulus to the tourism and business life of Cork."
