News: Ryanair announce new base at Nottingham EMA

Ryanair have announced that Nottingham East Midlands Airport will become the airline's second regional UK base, joining its established hubs in London (Luton and Stansted) and Liverpool.
From 7th of March 2006, Ryanair will base 2 brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Nottingham East Midlands Airport and add 10 new routes. These new aircraft and routes will operate alongside the existing five destinations Ryanair serves from Nottingham. The other routes will continue to be served by aircraft based at other Ryanair hubs.
The new destinations from East Midlands are:
Daily flights to:
- Berlin
- Londonderry
3 or 4 times weekly flights to:
- Nimes
- Carcassonne
- Nantes
- Dinard
- Limoges
- Lodz
- Wroclaw
- Bergerac
These new routes will start from March 7th 2006.
Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary, said:
“We are delighted to announce Nottingham East Midlands Airport as our 15th European base. From the 7th of March, Ryanair will operate 15 routes through Nottingham East Midlands delivering 1.2 million passengers per annum."
