News: Local council set to back Coventry Airport

Warwick District Council's planning officers are recommending that the committee grants approval to the latest plans for the new terminal development at the airport. The council is claiming that a new range of mitigation measures now makes the terminal acceptable to them in planning terms.
The mitigation package for local residents includes:-
a) Noise control measures
b) Grants for noise insulation up to 80% of the costs to a maximum of £3000
c) increased number of properties to be included in b) above, and a budget of £100,000 pa.
d) restriction on flight times until improvements to Tollbar End Junction are completed
e) monitoring of air quality
