BMI have announced that they will increase the frequency on their London to Bombay (Mumbai) flights to a daily service. The airline had launched its first flights to India earlier this year, operating four times each week.
At a press conference in Riyadh today, bmi chief executive Nigel Turner said:
"We expect to increase our Mumbai services to daily. Despite strong competition between the UK and India, as a result of deregulation, we have experienced positive results to date and expect to strengthen our relationship with India further in the future."
BMI's flights to Bombay face competition from legacy carriers British Airways and Air India, together with recent entries from Virgin and Indian company Jet Airways.
