Northern low cost airline Jet 2 has added three new destinations to its fast expanding portfolio of routes from Newcastle.
Twice daily flights will take off to Amsterdam on 27th April, with fares from just £9.99 one way inclusive of taxes. The airline will start flights to Pisa from 22nd May, with flights to Menorca planned to start three days later.
Although Easyjet already have a well established base at Newcastle, Jet2 have announced previous intentions to offer more flights from the Tyneside hub, following recent launches of flights to Murcia and Cork from Newcastle. Easyjet previously operated cheap flights from Newcastle to Amsterdam, but cancelled the route, complaining that the high charging regime at Amsterdam prevented them from operating it profitably. Easyjet have also recently stopped their Glasgow to Amsterdam flights for similar reasons. Scottish budget airline Flyglobespan have replaced Easyjet on the Glasgow route.
