Following last month's announcement of its shake up of regional flights, British Airways have started selling cheap flights under their new "BA Connect" brand. Flights can now be booked for travel from 26th March 2006.
The new 'BA Connect' services will operate from the airline's existing regional bases. Despite strong competition from the no-frills airline, the UK's flag carrying airline still has a major presence on key business-oriented routes from airports such as Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol. The new service has been launched to help make the airline's flights more appealing to budget minded passengers, especially on routes to cities such as Paris, where there is the strong possibility of attracting more leisure passengers.
BA Connect have not yet announced any new route developments, although there are strong suggestions that two new routes from Birmingham might be launched to Belfast and Berlin.
