Channel Island specialists Rockhopper have changed their name to Blue Islands to coincide with the arrival of the first plane in a new fleet of 19 seater Jetstream, prop-jet aircraft.
Blue Islands chairman, Derek Coates, said: “We have come a long way under the name Rockhopper, but the time has come to make more fundamental changes. We are determined to up the level of quality for passengers between our islands. The use of these high quality, quiet, pressurised aircraft also means that we can open up new routes to destinations such as the Isle of Man and Europe, thereby improving our commercial and tourism links with the outside world.”
