Ryanair have enjoyed great success at Liverpool, which they aim to build on by opening up another 11 routes later this year.

Ryanair has announced 11 new winter routes from Liverpool, bringing the total number of destinations served by Ryanair at its North West hub to 32.

The Irish no-frills airline will be flying to Aberdeen and Inverness in Scotland, Alghero and Ancona in Italy, Kaunas in Lithuania, Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw in Poland, Santander and Santiago in Spain and Tampere in Finland from October 3.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s managing director, Neil Pakey, said:

“When Liverpool was chosen to be the European Capital of Culture in 2008, we were determined to bring new services from all corners of Europe so that visitors would come to Liverpool and the North West. We have averaged over one route every month for the last 3 years and few would have thought we would now have 57 different destinations on our arrivals board”
