The first ever scheduled transatlantic flights from Liverpool’s John Lennon airport are set to take off next summer. No-frills airline Flyglobespan will offer daily flights between Liverpool and New York Newark from May 25.
John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono, said it is fitting that there will soon be flights from John Lennon Airport to New York. Ms Ono added: “John had a tremendous fondness for both of these cities. He would have been delighted that now there will be a direct flight between these two historic cities. It's a great day for both Liverpudlians and New Yorkers.”
