Tickets are now on sale for Delta’s new flights between London Gatwick and New York’s JFK airport.
The daily service takes off on November 15, and the troubled American carrier plans to launch a second daily flight from next May. In September 2005 Delta went into administration, although they are keen to expand their profitable transatlantic flights. Delta’s flights between Gatwick and JFK will be operated using the 214-capacity Boeing 767-300ER aircraft featuring leather seats in both economy and business class.
A Delta spokesman said: “Our customers in New York and connecting points beyond have long awaited the addition of nonstop Delta service between London and our fast-growing hub at JFK and we are eager to introduce customers to our newest transatlantic route this November.”
Delta already offer UK flights from Gatwick to Atlanta and Cincinnati, Manchester to Atlanta and New York, as well as flights from Edinburgh to Atlanta.
