Ryanair has launched eleven new routes from Liverpool’s John Lennon airport this week.

The no-frills giant now serves 34 UK and European destinations from Liverpool. The new routes include daily flights to Aberdeen and Inverness, four flights a week to Tampere in Finland, and three flights a week to Santiago de Compostela and Santander in Spain, Alghero and Ancona in Italy, the Polish cities of Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw, as well as Kaunas in Lithuania.

Ryanair’s UK sales manager, Caroline Baldwin, said: “Ryanair launched its first service from Liverpool JLA in May 1988 and launched its Liverpool JLA base in November 2004. Since then traffic has increased eightfold. With more flights, more choice, the lowest fares and better service than any other Liverpool-based carrier, Ryanair is undoubtedly Merseyside's number one airline.”
