Monarch Scheduled will offer flights from London Gatwick to Murcia next summer.
The route was dropped by British Airways in October 2005, but Monarch will run a daily service from May 3.
Monarch Scheduled’s managing director, Tim Jeans, said there has been huge customer demand for the resumption of flights from Gatwick to Murcia. He said: “Since launching services to Murcia from Birmingham in April this year we have carried over 45,000 passengers to the Costa Calida and are confident that the addition of the route from Gatwick will be another huge success for Monarch and a popular year round destination for our customers in the south-east.”
Monarch currently operate scheduled services from London Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Granada, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Lisbon, Malaga and Tenerife.
