News: Easyjet cancels Bristol flights
Flights > News > # 1139 (04/01/2007)
Easyjet has cancelled all its flights from Bristol today amid concerns over the reliability of the newly resurfaced runway in wet weather conditions.
The airline said the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft is its first priority and that the decision had been taken following extensive discussions with Bristol airport and the Civil Aviation Authority.
Customers are entitled to a refund of the fare paid or a free transfer on to another Easyjet flight within the next month. Fifteen flights have been affected after the no-frills airline raised concerns about skidding when landing in wet weather. Flights with other airlines have not been affected.
The airport has refused to confirm the reason for the Easyjet cancellations, but otherwise declined to comment. The airline is currently discussing what action to take over the weekend. Customers due to fly with Easyjet have been advised to call the company on 08712 442366, or visit its website, easyjet.com.
