News: Easyjet axe Geneva summer flights
Flights > News > # 1155 (18/01/2007)
Easyjet is axing its summer flights from Belfast International to Geneva due to poor sales.
Winter flights between Belfast and Geneva will continue as normal. The thrice-weekly Geneva service was originally launched in July 2005, and was supported by the Government’s Air Route Development Fund.
Speaking in the Belfast Telegraph, an Easyjet spokesman said: “We tried to operate the route during the summer last year but the demand was not strong enough.”
Easyjet was the only airline offering summer flights to any destination in Switzerland from Belfast. Aer Lingus operate four flights a week to Geneva from Dublin, and there are regular flights to Geneva from many UK airports. For more details see Flightmapping.com’s Geneva flights page.
