UAE airline Etihad Airways is to axe its flights from Gatwick to Abu Dhabi in favour of increasing frequency from Heathrow.
The change comes as part of the carrier’s summer flying programme from March 26, which will see frequency from Heathrow rise from 12 flights a week to twice daily flights.
Etihad is increasing capacity by 18% across its network in the summer with 40 additional weekly flights and six new Airbus A330s and A340s.
As well as operating flights between London and Abu Dhabi, Etihad also run daily flights to the Emirates capital from Manchester.
