VLM Airlines is raising frequency between London City Airport and Manchester to nine return flights a day on weekdays.
An additional return flight starts on March 1, when the schedule will be altered to offer a greater number of departures at peak times.
The Dutch airline said it carried more than 113,000 passengers on the route in 2006, with around 80% flying on business.
VLM managing director, Johan Vanneste, said: “Despite the fierce competition on this route, VLM Airlines has achieved a great deal of recognition amongst the business community and extra demand has brought us to the decision to introduce an extra return flight.”
