BmiBaby is launching flights between Birmingham and Jersey this summer.
The four times a week service takes off on May 24 and pitches BMI’s no-frills subsidiary in a head to head battle against regional specialist Flybe. BmiBaby claims its lowest lead in price will be 40% cheaper than Flybe, and that it will increase frequency to two flights a day over the next year. Flybe currently offer daily flights between Birmingham and Jersey.
BmiBaby started operations at Birmingham in January 2005 and now offers flights to 21 European destinations. In late 2006 the airline announced that it was launching new routes to Aberdeen, Barcelona, Faro, Glasgow International, Lisbon, Marseille Provence, Murcia and Rome (Fiumicino).
