British Airways is launching a new business focused subsidiary, BA City Flyer, to replace BA Connect at London City.
The new carrier will be based at London City, and will take over BA Connect’s 144 routes from the Docklands airport to six UK and European destinations from the end of this month.
The new carrier will operate 250 flights a week from the Docklands airport to six UK and European destinations from the end of this month.
From March 26, BA CityFlyer will also start new direct routes to Glasgow and Zurich, each served four times a day, and add extra frequency on the busy Edinburgh service.
BA CityFlyer acting managing director, Peter Simpson, said: “London City airport will be a major focus for us over the next few years.
“We believe BA CityFlyer has a great future here, and we will evaluate further growth opportunities as we plan our schedules for 2008 and beyond.”
