Wizz Air will launch the first scheduled flights from Liverpool to Romania this autumn.
Flights from Liverpool John Lennon airport to Bucharest will take off on October 1, and operate three times a week.
Wizz Air is the largest no-frills airline in Eastern Europe, and is looking to further bolster its presence in the UK this year with the launch of new routes to Poland from Belfast International, Coventry, Durham Tees Valley, Bournemouth and Doncaster Sheffield airports. The airline has brought the start dates forward by a week on the new Polish routes because of better than expected ticket sales. Flights from Katowice to Bournemouth and Coventry will start on July 7 and July 13 respectively, the Doncaster to Gdansk flights will take off on July 8 and the Warsaw to Durham Tees Valley and Belfast services start on July 13 and July 14 respectively.
