News: First budget transatlantic flights take off from Heathrow

Air Transat claim to have launched the first low-cost transatlantic flights from London Heathrow.
The airline, branded as Canadian Affair, launched the twice weekly (Saturdays and Sundays) flights to Toronto Pearson International on May 12. Flights will operate on Airbus A310 aircraft, with a choice of two classes.
Air Transat already operate flights to Canada from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast.
Heathrow managing director, Mark Bullock, said: "BAA welcomes Canadian Affair to Heathrow - the world's number one hub-airport. Canadian Affair's new and exciting non-stop service to Toronto will provide passengers with even more choice and will further open up the growing Canadian tourism market."
