British business class-only airline Silverjet is set to start its expansion into the US this winter with the launch of daily flights from London to Chicago.
The Times has reported that Silverjet, which currently operates flights between Luton and New York Newark, has applied to the US Department of Transportation to start flights to the Windy City.
In its application, the airline stated: "Silverjet proposes to introduce competitive low-cost, business-class only services on the heavily-travelled Chicago-London route.
"Its unique service to and from Luton airport will provide consumers with an attractive alternative to existing London services."
The new service is scheduled to take off at the start of November, with flights leaving London at 11am and returning from Chicago at 6.30pm.
Silverjet is also reportedly interested launching flights between London and Los Angeles.
