News: BA to switch Texas flights to Heathrow
Flights > News > # 1336 (03/07/2007)
All British Airways’ Texas flights will switch from Gatwick to Heathrow next March.
The change includes daily flights to Dallas and twice daily flights to Houston.
BA is taking advantage of the new "Open Skies" agreement between the U.S. and European Union, which allows airlines to fly between any US or European city.
BA chief executive, Willie Walsh, said: "Today's announcement is a major step resulting from the open skies agreement.”
Walsh said the 224-seat Boeing 777s British Airways flies between London and Dallas are typically about 70 percent full, but is confident the move to Heathrow will see an increase in passenger numbers.
