Flybe has apologised to passengers in Northern Ireland who have been hit by delayed flights - but insisted that the problems were being resolved.
Flybe has been dubbed ‘Flymaybe’ by some passengers because of regular delays and cancellations.
The no-frills airline’s chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, admitted to the Belfast Telegraph that reliability had been a problem in recent months.
He told the paper: "Let me record my regret for the fact that our punctuality has not been as good as it once was, but let me reassure passengers that the problems are being addressed. We set ourselves high standards and have not been meeting them for a number of reasons - such as the availability of air crews."
Rutter added: "A number of measures were put in place in early June and we have already seen a dramatic improvement. We have put additional crews and aircraft in six locations and this means we have a second fully crewed aircraft on standby at George Best City Airport."
