Eurostar has suspended plans to stop trains at the new Stratford International station in East London.
Eurostar is moving services from Waterloo to St Pancras on November 13, and the £238 million facility at Stratford was earmarked to cater for passengers who did not want to venture into central London.
Eurostar says trains will not stop there and is unable to give any date for when international services could start. A spokesman for Eurostar said: "Stratford will soon be in the middle of a huge construction site (for the 2012 Olympics), and there aren't strong public transport links to the rest of London. As a result, we don't plan to start using it in November this year.
“Once the connections are in place, we'll be able to begin stopping there quite quickly. We certainly still think there's a market there, and we'll be keeping it under review."
