News: Liverpool airport slammed over £2 security fast lane

A controversial system at Liverpool John Lennon airport that allows passengers to pay £2 to by-pass long security queues has been slammed by the Air Transport Users Council (AUC).
The "fast lane" scheme was brought in by JLA to allow those willing to pay a couple of quid extra to speed past those waiting in the regular queues.
A spokesman for the AUC, the air travel watchdog, said passengers are already charged for security through their flight tickets and that the scheme meant they would effectively be paying twice.
He also said that the checks for those who didn't pay the £2 fee could be even slower as a result, and added that the system would confuse passengers.
