Singapore Airlines has been voted the best world’s best airline in a leading international consumer survey.
Research company Skytrax has interviewed over 14 million travellers over the last year about subjects ranging from the quality of cabin staff and catering to in-flight entertainment and business lounges.
The overall airline of the year top ten was dominated by Asian airlines, including Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways. Air New Zealand and Qantas also featured, but British Airways slumped from first to tenth place following a tough year punctuated by cancellations and delays caused by security alerts and bad weather. BA can take consolation though from being voted the best European airline and best transatlantic carrier.
Easyjet was voted the world’s third best budget airline, with German airline Air Berlin coming second and Aussie carrier Jetstar Airways bagging the top spot.
