News: Easyjet revives Paris flights from Glasgow International

Direct flights from Glasgow International to Paris will start again this autumn.
Budget airline Easyjet is reviving the route six years after Air France pulled out of Glasgow. Easyjet will operate daily flights to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport from October 29, offering Glasgow-based passengers a welcome alternative to Ryanair’s flights from Prestwick to Paris Beauvais. Blessed with outstanding public transport links, Charles de Gaulle is located 16 miles from central Paris, whereas isolated Beauvais is 65 miles north of the French capital.
Glasgow Airport has grown steadily in recent years but it has failed to hold on to key business routes to European hubs such as Paris, Frankfurt and Brussels. Several airlines have since tried and failed to fly the route successfully.
Easyjet's UK general manager, David Osborne, said the new Paris flights were the latest sign of his airline's renewed interested in Scotland.
Mr Osborne said: "There is great demand in Scotland for direct low-fares flights to main city airports and following the success of the airline's new routes launched from Glasgow last year and Edinburgh this year, this new route from Glasgow to Paris reflects Easyjet's commitment to Scotland."
Easyjet is also starting a service from Edinburgh to Paris Charles de Gaulle on September 10.
