News: Ryanair to battle Easyjet on Madrid flights from Liverpool
Flights > News > # 1438 (21/08/2007)
Ryanair is launching flights from Liverpool to Madrid this autumn.
The new route will trigger a price war with rival budget airline Easyjet, which currently operates daily flights to the Spanish capital from Liverpool.
Ryanair will offer less frequency than Easyjet, with three flights a week operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from October 30.
This latest announcement at Liverpool comes just a week after Ryanair announced a new route to Valencia from John Lennon airport. It is part of the no-frills giant’s expansion in Spain, which includes the setting up of new hubs in Alicante, Madrid and Valencia.
