News: Monarch launch new text update service

Monarch Airlines has unveiled a new mobile phone-based flight update service for passengers.
Monarch Mobile will provide customers with free information about delays, check-in locations and booking references, four hours before departure time.
In the two to three hours before takeoff, passengers will receive a text message detailing up to two exclusive offers from the airline, and shortly before boarding, an SMS message will be dispatched reminding customers to head to the their departure gate.
Monarch Airlines’ customer services director, Kevin George, said text messaging is the perfect way to update passengers on departure day.
"By saving people from constantly checking the airport departure boards, we hope they'll feel more in control, so we can make the time they spend in the airport lounge as enjoyable as the time they spend on board their Monarch flight," he added.
