Easyjet is planning to open two new bases in France, with three aircraft stationed at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and two at Lyon.
The five aircraft will operate 13 routes both within France and internationally. At Paris, flights will be launched to Biarritz, Porto, Venice, Marrakech, Hamburg and Krakow.
From Lyon's Saint-Exupery Airport, flights will start to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Casablanca, Marrakech, Venice, Porto and Lisbon.
Easyjet chief executive, Andy Harrison, said: "Today's announcement is just the first step in our major investment that will see us double our presence in France by 2011 as we seek to bring the benefits of Easyjet to France's air travellers and its wider society.”
Easyjet currently flies to Paris from UK airports including London Luton, Edinburgh and Newcastle, and to Lyon from London Stansted.
