News: Ryanair voted worst airline by UK travellers

Ryanair has been voted the worst airline by UK travellers for the second year.
A third of people voting in the poll carried out by travel website Trip Advisor declared the Irish no-frills airline their least favourite, giving delays, cancellations, unfriendly staff, uncomfortable seats and poor legroom as the reasons. American carrier US Airways pipped Ryanair to the unwanted title of World’s Worst Airline.
British Airways, which came top in the survey last year, slipped to third place overall but was voted top airline by travellers outside the US. American Airlines (AA) was the favourite airline. Travellers said friendly and helpful staff, reliable service, and comfortable seats gave AA the edge over other carriers.
Ryanair hit back at the survey. A spokesman said: "This year, 52 million passengers will vote with their feet and travel with Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline, knowing it's number one for customer service, low fares and punctuality.
"This hardly compares to the 833 people who voted in the survey, most whom probably never travelled with Ryanair."
