News: Lufthansa increase fuel surcharges

German national airline Lufthansa is to increase its fuel surcharge for long-haul flights by €10 (£7) per leg.
With many analysts predicting the price of crude oil will hit $100 (£50) a barrel, Lufthansa said it has made the decision due to "the concomitant increase in the price for kerosene".
The surcharge per flight segment will now be €77 (£53.60) on long-haul tickets sold from November 14. The surcharge on flights within Germany and Europe remains unchanged at €14 (£9.75) per flight leg.
Yesterday (November 7) Lufthansa announced the launch of a three-times daily connection between Bristol and Frankfurt starting in March next year.
