News: Thomsonfly axes Amsterdam flights from Doncaster
Flights > News > # 1569 (09/11/2007)
Thomsonfly has scrapped its daily flights from Doncaster Sheffield to Amsterdam.
Flights to Prague and Jersey from Doncaster are also set to face the chop in the coming months.
The news comes as Robin Hood Airport - departure airport for worldwide package holidays - celebrated an 18.9 per cent rise in passenger numbers for October 2007 when compared with the same time last year.
However, the loss of more Thomsonfly flights to major European destinations - with Paris also dropped earlier this year – is a major blow for Britain’s newest airport. Thomsonfly was the first airline to offer flights from Doncaster when it opened in April 2005, and is still the largest player at the South Yorkshire facility.
