Flights > News > # 1577 (14/11/2007)
Flybe is scrapping four routes from Norwich, claiming a new charge being charged to passengers by the airport makes its flights too expensive.
A £3 Airport Development Fee (ADF) was introducedby Norwich Airport in April to raise £5m to invest in facilities, but Flybe has said that it is being forced to axe flights to Alicante, Majorca and Malaga in Spain and its domestic flights Exeter because of the levy.
A Flybe spokesperson said demand for the flights had fallen by more than 15 per cent, although Norwich Airport bosses said that competition from Ryanair at Stansted was the real reason behind Flybe’s decision.
