Easyjet will start flights to the Greek city of Thessaloniki from London Gatwick early next year.
The budget airline will operate three flights a week from Gatwick to Thessaloniki. The new route takes off on January 30. Easyjet will face competition on the route from British Airways, Olympic and a host of charter airlines – see Flightmapping.com’s Thessaloniki page for more details.
Easyjet’s UK manager, David Osborne, said: "Thessaloniki is the second Greek destination easyJet will offer from the UK and we expect to carry over 41,000 passengers on the route this summer. The addition of this new service takes the total number of routes available from our base at Gatwick to 44."
Meanwhile, Easyjet has also announced the launch of new flights from Newcastle to Murcia in southern Spain. The route takes off on May 17, with flights will operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
