BMI Regional is launching flights from East Midlands Airport to Cologne early next year.
The new route takes off on February 11, with BMI Regional offering six flights a week.
The airline will fill the gap left by Easyjet when it withdraws from the route in January.
Embraer jets with both business and economy class will be used, and fares start at £49 one-way, including taxes and charges.
Passengers will also have the option of travelling onwards to destinations including Hamburg with BMI Regional’s Star Alliance partner Lufthansa.
A BMI Regional spokesman said: "We are delighted to be launching services between East Midlands Airport and Cologne and we expect the route to be popular with both business and leisure travellers, who will be able to fly with BMI Regional and be assured of punctual services on comfortable jet aircraft with great flight schedules and low fares.”
