The first Aer Lingus flights from its new Belfast International base took off today (December 10).
Flights to Amsterdam, Barcelona and Geneva started today, with further services to London Heathrow, Rome, Budapest, Malaga, Faro and Nice beginning early next year.
This will bring the total number of direct routes from Belfast International to the Continent to 30, up from just one three years ago.
Aer Lingus chief executive, Dermot Mannion, told The Belfast Telegraph that forward bookings for the new routes had already passed the 50,000 mark.
"The demand for all routes is encouraging and we are already getting passengers booking online for services next summer," he said.
