News: Eastern set to axe flights between Birmingham and Inverness

Eastern Airways is scrapping its flights between Birmingham and Inverness following Flybe's decision to launch competing daily flights on the route.
The current service, which operates twice every weekday, will end on March 30, with the airline advising that passengers booked onto flights after that date would receive a full refund.
A spokesman for Eastern said the scrapping of its flights between Birmingham and Inverness was directly influenced by Inverness Airport's decision to allow Flybe to operate on the route. He added that the route cannot sustain two airlines.
Eastern Airways’ other existing flights from Birmingham and Inverness will not be affected by the changes.
