Lufthansa has increased its fuel surcharge for flights within Germany and destinations in its European network due to the rising cost of oil.
The German national airline has introduced a €3 (£2.30) increase to its surcharge, taking the cost up to €17 (£13) per flight segment. The new fee came into effect on Thursday (March 13).
There has been no increase in the surcharge on long-haul flights, meaning the cost remains at €77 (£60) per flight segment, and Lufthansa has said it will continue to monitor the trend of fuel prices and make any adjustments to the surcharge where required.
