News: American Airlines scraps New York flights from Stansted

American Airlines is axing its all-business-class flights from London Stansted to New York JFK at the start of next month.
The scrapping of the route comes days after Luton-based business carrier Silverjet went bust. Rival business airlines Eos and Maxjet have also gone under in recent months due mounting fuel costs and credit problems.
A Stansted airport spokesman said: “American’s decision is reflective of the global situation, especially relating to rising oil prices and the current economic environment, and is part of a number of cutbacks being made by American Airlines across its domestic and international network.”
