Ryanair is launching new flights from London Stansted to Zweibrucken in western Germany this winter.
The no-frills airline’s daily flights take off on October 28 and will be the first ever scheduled flights to Germany’s “city of roses and horses” from the UK.
A spokesman for the Irish carrier said: “Zweibrucken boasts one of Germany’s biggest stud farms, and horse enthusiasts can enjoy stallion parades followed by a trip down the ‘Rosenweg’ rose-filled promenade.
“So we advise all budding horticulturalists, horse enthusiasts and bargain hunters to book immediately as demand will be very strong.”
One way fares from London Stansted to Zweibrucken start from £26 including taxes and charges.

Comment:
With a population of just 30,000, and no major cities or tourist attractions nearby, Zweibrucken might seem an odd destination for Ryanair to target.
Ryanair’s press release, littered, as ever, with unadulterated hyperbole, made a song and dance about the stud farms and horse parades which visitors to Zweibrucken
Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary is passionate about his horses - he even has his own stud farm – but is there enough interest in all things equine to attract large numbers of visitors from the UK? Probably not, but with the Euro at an all time high against the pound and no other rival airports close to Zweibrücken, we can only assume that Ryanair expects traffic to flow the other way. Clearly the no-frills giant has considerable faith in this route because it will be launched as a daily service rather than a more cautious twice weekly or three times a week operation.
