News: New Bmibaby flights launched from Manchester

Bmibaby has launched flights to Lisbon and Madrid from Manchester.
The new flights to the Portuguese capital will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Sundays, with the Madrid flights running four times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The budget airline said bookings for the new routes were “extremely encouraging” despite the current economic downturn.
Bmibaby managing director, Crawford Rix, said: “The current economic conditions are not dampening people's desire to travel. We have seen an increase in the number of people traveling on short breaks from Manchester and our passenger numbers for Lisbon and Madrid are testament to this. Our combination of low fares to exciting destinations continues to drive demand.”
In February Bmibaby also announced a four-times-a-week service from Manchester to Barcelona starting in September.
