News: Ryanair plan major cut back of Dublin flights this winter

Ryanair has announced a substantial reduction in the number of flights it will be operating from Dublin this winter.
The Irish no-frills airline is cutting back over 150 flights a week compared to the 2007/2008 winter season.
Ryanair has blamed above inflation charge increases at Dublin airport for its decision to reduce flights from the Irish capital.
Chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “The combination of Dublin’s high costs, unjustified cost increases and a hopeless aviation regulator who has most recently rubber-stamped doubling charging for check-in desks and check-in kiosks, makes it more profitable for Ryanair to ground these aircraft rather than fly them at Dublin this winter.
“We have a Government-owned airport monopoly wasting money building facilities that the airlines don’t want and imposing massive cost increases at a time when fares are falling and oil prices have doubled to all-time highs.”
